Tim is a software
executive with nearly 20 years experience in software engineering and software
product development; this experience has been gained in a broad range of
industries and technical environments.
He is currently VP Custom Solutions at Yahoo, and is responsible for advertiser and partner solutions in all markets outside of North America; additionally, he is also a member of the management team which runs Yahoo’s business in Europe. Before taking responsibility for Custom Solutions, Tim was VP Engineering and ran Yahoo's engineering teams in Europe and Canada.
Prior to working in the internet, Tim worked in a broad range of businesses including: banking and financial services, enterprise software, speech recognition IVR solutions, embedded real-time applications and high-tech R&D. Previous roles include:
- Head of Development at Misys Banking
- Technical Director at Talgentra Ltd (a privately held UK company since acquired by Experian Decision Analytics)
- Head of Development at SRC Telecom (a privately held UK company, the Telecom division of which has since been acquired by Fluency Voice Technology and subsequently by Syntellect)
- Technical Director at Thales e-Transactions (Hypercom have since acquired the e-Transactions business from Thales)

Having worked in
both large international corporations running geographically-distributed teams,
and in smaller, early-stage companies where a more “hands on” approach is needed, Tim is equally comfortable managing “in the large” as he is managing
“in the small” and can adapt his approach accordingly.
In addition to
his technical expertise, Tim is also experienced in general business management
and he typically represents the technical interests of the business in the
senior management teams of the companies in which he works.
